DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CINNAMON CREEK – Lancelot Rice, Major Executive of the Universal Triumvirate, and Dallin Langford, General Secretary of the Democratic Republic of Cinnamon Creek, have been forming a new Constitution for the DRCC, the Daily Micronational understands.
“Me and Dallin Langford have been working vigorously to overhaul his entire constitution as a part of the settlement attempt [for the Eden v. Langford issue],” Lancelot Rice declared through the Triumvirate State Department account on the MicroWiki forums. “One key feature is that if an INTERNATIONAL PERSON (ie. James Frish, Horatio Eden, Kit McCarthy, etc) wants to appeal a final verdict made by the Republic of Cinnamon Creek supreme court, they can do so in the Triumvirate Supreme Court.”
In the Ragged Flagon later that day, Dallin Langford seemed less than pleased with the decision. “A representative of DRCC shall represent DRCC interests in the Triumvirate Court though I feel that it is essentially giving partially away the international sovereignty that a nation contains such as DRCC,” he remarked, and, when the Emperor of Zenrax remarked that “you’re simply giving away the right to be the final authority for your country, within your country,” the General Secretary could only respond with “Rice wanted to make the legal process seem fairer especially to international persons like Eden.”
This news comes as the DRCC gets into gear for the General Secretary elections, which Dallin Langford, the candidate for the Libertarian-Conservative Party, is leading with 66% of the popular vote according to the last straw poll (the sample size of the poll has not yet been released). Will this move shock the DRCC’s populace? Considering the recent success of civil rights candidate and renowned isolationist Bella Topgrove, it is altogether likely that her foreign policy will strike a chord with those disillusioned with Mr. Langford after this decision to surrender judicial sovereignty to the Universal Triumvirate.
