WHESTCOREA – Mememaster-General Horatio Eden, as per the Mememaster-General Election Act, has called an election to determine who will take the office into the next four months.
This announcement comes as the Congress deliberates over the Whestcorea-UT merger which fizzled out after a referendum found a deficit of public support for the move.
Horatio Eden, who has won every federal election thus far, won the Party Party nomination earlier today after Vice Mememaster-General Bob Christ announced his support for him. The Party Party establishment has agreed to Eden representing them.
Meanwhile, the House Party and newly-formed Apathy Party have both made nominations, Samuel Jackson and James Reece, the former Whestcorean criminal who was granted clemency by Mememaster-General Eden after he agreed to the Whestcorean annexation of his former country, AS A. Later on in the day, Rainbow Gordon Bennett, former Leader of the Opposition, expressed interest in running for the post, and obtained the nomination of his newly formed Dirty Party.
A debate has been scheduled for tomorrow; the nominees for the Party Party, House Party and Apathy Party have confirmed their intentions to attend, though Rainbow Gordon Bennett has yet to comment.
