UPDATE: THE POLLS HAVE CLOSED. NOMINATIONS ARE NOW BEING COUNTED!
The first stage of the nomination process for the second annual RadioMicro Awards ceremony is set to close later today.
The awards, given by the RadioMicro Group and its head, the eponymous media magnate and Mcarthian President Kit McCarthy, are granted to micronationalists whom the MicroWiki community deem to be of the highest echelon of their particular field, be that field micronational economics, politics, legislative procedure, and so forth.
A number of candidates for each category have been outed in the Ragged Flagon; Markus II of New Israel was nominated for the “Most Influential” award, an award previously won by Emperor Jonathan I of Austenasia, the Daily Micronational was nominated best micronational news outlet, competing with such other media conglomerates as the Coprieta Standard, and Henry Twain was nominated for the micronational economics award on account of his creation of the famous/infamous Quetican Micronational Stock Exchange, among other such personal announcements.
The RadioMicro Awards, established in 2015 by the titular RadioMicro Group, is an annual event – last year, it was hosted by President McCarthy, Jackson Eden, James Cheffins and Leon Williamson. Kit McCarthy will naturally be returning to front this year’s ceremony, and Horatio Eden is also slated to appear.
We reached out to the community for comment and received a few interesting responses. “The RadioMicro Awards are a great way to reflect on the accomplishments of the members of our community,” Henry Twain said, “or lack thereof. Them returning is fantastic, now if only we could get the regular RadioMicro episodes back, too.” The last RadioMicro episode was on January 7th of this year, regarding the supposed ‘Austenasian Election Affair’ which was later debunked.
Kerry Stapleton, head of the Skovaji Stock Exchange, also commented. “This is the first year I’ve been able to nominate people, and I’m thrilled to be taking part in such a respected and enjoyable programme which I have watched for years previously! I look forward to seeing who wins!”
