UNIVERSAL TRIUMVIRATE (DM) – The Universal Triumvirate, believed largely to have been rendered defunct in the aftermath of the Winter Attacks at the end of 2015 that wiped out the vast majority of its populace, commenced its first full legislative term post-Attacks this week.
Commenced by the landmark SUPERIOR Act (SUPERIOR being an acronym for “Supplying Utilities for Providing Economic Reinvigoration and Initiating Organized Revival”) proposed by Major Executive Lancelot Rice, an Act that creates a series of incentives for both business and citizen recruitment in the form of the Triumvirate’s currency – the Tri – as well as grant government subsidies to various key departments, the recently-restored Executive Branch has a number of challenges it needs to overcome in order to get back to where it was at the end of Major Executive Charles Sessions’ term of office, he being the last Major Executive to serve before the Attacks that debilitated the government.
While there have been cabinet confirmations – Isabelle Pacem for Head of Intelligence and Vulpes Arenas for Chair of the Joint Command Council – there is still a severe lack of manpower in key posts, such as that for the head of the Department of State, the Heads of Commerce and Industry and Finance, and a vast majority of the positions created by the newly instated legal code of the nation, reversed to the original 2014 format by Executive Branch resolution.
Alexander Buchanan, who served as Chief Attorney in Lancelot Rice’s cabinet in the immediate aftermath of the Attacks, will continue to serve in that post. Horatio Eden, former Chief of Staff to the Major Executive and King of Edenopolis, denied holding a political office within the Triumvirate or harbouring intentions to seek one in the future. Andrew Hester, who served as Minor Executive after the Attacks and in a number of financial posts during and prior Sessions’ incumbency, has ceased Triumvirate involvement, though continues to operate his YouTube channel.
Major Executive Lancelot Rice responded for a request for comment on the SUPERIOR Act to say that “The SUPERIOR Act is the attempt to create a Triumvirate where all of our resources are pointed towards a single goal: revival.” He went on to maintain that “without the SUPERIOR Act I do not think that we would come back in quite the same way, as the incentives for hard work and commitment to this country wouldn’t be there.”
These events come as the original Triumviran elections early last year were rendered void, restoring the original Executive Branch-Administrative Branch form of government to the Universal Triumvirate. The new model constitution was also revoked, and the first edition of the Universal Triumvirate Code – the law code of the nation – was restored, repealing the legislative achievements of former Major Executive Charles Sessions.
