ESSE (DM) – The Commonwealth of Esse’s general election rapidly approaches, with Horatio Eden’s Federalist Party according to polls from the Messenger and the Daily Micronational set for an electoral landslide.
Both the Messenger, run by Lord of the Commonwealth and A Couna party leader Henry Twain, and the Daily Micronational, run by Federalist leader and Chief Attorney Horatio Eden himself (Eden was not involved in the dissemination of the Daily Micronational strawpoll) give the Federalist Party 50% of the vote – not enough to control a majority of the seats of the Parliassam, the Essian national legislature, but enough to make it the majority party in any subsequent coalition. It additionally makes current Heaminister (the head of government) and Federalist candidate for the Heaministry James Frisch the favourite for the Heaministerial race.
The Lennonist Party, however, have made significant gains since the Messenger poll. A 25% lead on the Federalists part over the Lennonist Party shrank to 17% – entirely at the expense of monarchist third party A Couna – as the Lennonists crept up to 33% support, according to the poll run by the Daily Micronational on the 10th of May. This has not yet affected the Federalists’ apparent bedrock of popular support, though a recent op-ed from A Couna’s Heaminister candidate Andrew Montehue criticising the Federalists’ position on the question of Esse’s occupation of the United States of Wings, released after the Daily Micronational poll, may yet damage their standing. The effects of the editorial have yet to be seen, and the Federalist Party is yet to formally respond.
In other general election news, the first draft of the Federalist Party’s June campaign poster has been released. Campaign posters on the part of A Couna and the Lennonist Party were released earlier in the campaign cycle, and all three can be viewed below.
